There are three differences between the new version of the street lamp national standard and the old version

The new version of the national standard for street lamps GB70000.203-2013 has three differences with the old version. Compared with the old standard GB7000.5-2005, which has been used for 10 years, the new version of the national standard for LED street lamps adds the highest installation height mark and modifies the safety test of the glass cover. , The glass cover should use three requirements under the thermal limit. See below for details:

Three differences

1. Increase the maximum installation height mark requirement

The manufacturer should state the maximum installation height of the product in the lamp specification. When the height of the mark is greater than 5 meters, the glass cover (if any) of the lamp shall meet the safety requirements of clause 6.5 of the standard.

       2. Modify the safety test requirements of the glass cover

The old standard only stipulates the test method for flat glass, and the new standard also includes the molded glass in the assessment range, which means that street lamps using curved glass lampshades also need to meet the safety requirements of the glass shade.

Compared with the old standard, the new standard adds an optional conformity assessment method, which requires the glass cover to meet the following two conditions at the same time: (1) Use a pendulum or a vertical drop hammer to apply 5 joules of impact energy to the glass cover After that, the glass cannot be broken. (2) Use the impact head to break the glass. The number of glass fragments in a square area with a side length of 50mm should be greater than 20.

In addition, the new standard has also revised the conformity assessment method in the old standard. The conformity assessment method in the old standard is: After the glass is broken by the impact head, the number of glass fragments in a square area with a side length of 50mm should be greater than 60. The new standard only requires the number of glass fragments to be greater than 40.

Readers are reminded of the difference between this requirement and the requirement in the second paragraph. The number of glass fragments greater than 40 can be directly judged as qualified, and the number of fragments greater than 20 must also meet the requirement of glass not to break after 5 joules of impact energy.

3. The glass cover should be used under the thermal limit

The glass cover should be used within the thermal limit stated by the glass manufacturer. The thermal limit shall include the minimum and maximum temperature allowed by the glass, as well as the maximum Δt value.
